Hampton by Hilton Hamilton Park

The hotel has always been spotless, from reception through to the room. This was my third visit to the Hamilton Hilton, though the last two trips, which ran into each other, had a few hiccups: I got locked out of the bathroom, the toilet seat was broken, and a socket lost power. The main frustration is the 'Digital Key' for 'Honour Members'. It’s meant to let you skip reception check-in after pre-checking in through the hotel app, but each time I was told it wasn’t available until I’d checked in at reception. That defeats the point. To be fair, I did get the electronic key within a couple of hours on the first occasion, then after about fifteen minutes the second and third times, once I’d checked in with a key card. *Update* I once left a PC cable behind. I called, and they found it and set it aside for a pre-paid envelope. I had to return on another trip a couple of weeks later, and it was still there, so I picked it up. If you leave something behind and let them know ASAP, you can get it back by collecting it or arranging a pre-paid envelope.

The whole team was wonderful during our family vacation at Hampton by Hilton Hamilton Park, and we felt welcome throughout. Caterina and Terrence were especially helpful with everything we needed, going above and beyond to make the stay comfortable and memorable. At the restaurant, James and Mark and Ada were also so kind and accommodating. I loved the experience, and those five people deserve a special mention for how lovely they were to me and my family. I’d absolutely stay at Hampton by Hilton Hamilton Park again when I come back to Scotland someday. Highly recommended!

Breakfast was amazing, especially the real juices and all the waffle and food choices. The room was clean and lovely, and the lady who welcomed us was so kind. She also told us about nearby pubs when we asked. The staff were great. I’d come back again and again.

We were in town for family events nearby and stayed two nights. The hotel was easy to reach from the airport, with the bonus of free on-site parking. It’s right by the race course, where there seem to be lots of family event days at weekends, so it’s worth checking if you’re travelling with family. The bright, modern hotel has plenty of seating, and there’s a small tuck shop at reception for a quick snack. Shops and cinemas are close by too. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, and the clean bedrooms were lovely. The bed was quite hard and I could feel the springs, so I didn’t sleep that comfortably. Breakfast was included and tasted lovely, but keeping hot food and toast available was tricky. If I waited for hot food to be replenished, the toast was gone, and when I got toast, the hot food could be empty. It was busy, but for a hotel of this size they should plan the food better and put more bread out at each restock.
