Karen made our group feel so welcome and went above and beyond as a hostess. She takes real pride in her hometown and her lovely home. The house is spacious and comfortable, on a charming, quiet street, and it’s an easy walk to Harrogate’s shops, restaurants and gardens. We found it a great base for our week in Yorkshire, and I’d highly recommend both Harrogate and Acorn Lodge to anyone travelling here. We were a group of 10 ladies visiting in June, and the well-equipped, spacious kitchen made it easy to cook for ourselves. Karen also left us a generous welcome hamper full of delicious provisions.

We all slept brilliantly, the beds were so comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook easily for all 12 of us. Karen, the owner, was incredibly helpful, and the welcome hamper was fab. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend it.

Breakfast was great, with locally sourced bacon, sausage and eggs. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was welcoming. The property was well maintained, and the rooms were clean. It’s in a perfect spot, just a five minute walk from the town centre. We had a first class stay at the Acorn lodge and really enjoyed our time in Harrogate.

The breakfast was a real treat, a full English cooked to order with dietary needs taken into account. There was a wide choice of gluten free food, from toast and cereal to fruit, plus fresh orange juice, a pot of tea or fresh coffee from a cafetiere. The owners were extremely friendly and informative, and even gave us a detailed history of the house. The bedrooms were immaculately tidy, the beds just right, and the bathroom was well equipped, including a spa bath, which is unusual for a B&B this size. There’s free road parking from 6pm to 9am, and you can extend it to midday by speaking with the owners. One of the best B&Bs I’ve stayed in, and a must if you’re in Harrogate.
