The White Hart Hotel

We had a tasty meal cooked to order, piping hot, and the chef clearly knows his trade. The lady with dark hair and glasses was helping in both the bar and kitchen, and gave really good customer service. We ate in the bar because that’s the dog-friendly area. They were good about allergens too, which mattered as I’m lactose intolerant.

I booked room 19 for 23rd December and was totally shocked by how terrible it was for the money. The roller blinds didn’t fit the windows, and when I opened a drawer, the front came off in my hand. The room was disgusting. I’d never stay there again.

I complained about finding the previous guest’s trousers in the wardrobe, rubbish under the bed, and a badly stained counterpane. They gave me a bottle of wine but no discount. Clearly, the room hadn’t been cleaned or checked. The place was so dated and in need of a refurb that I’d have checked out and found another hotel if Cornwall hadn’t been so busy. I booked two nights, but couldn’t face breakfast because of the unpleasant smell downstairs in the bar area. The whole place needs a deep clean. Very disappointing.

The price for that awful salad was a joke. My ploughman’s salad was vile, the cutlery was dirty, and I had to ask for a clean knife. There was hair in the food too. Lunch was very disappointing.
