Overnight Stays Stockport

The location worked well for visiting family and friends, and having a ground floor room was handy. It was basic but very clean, with the ensuite shower and toilet we booked. I would have rated it higher if we hadn't received a parking ticket within 30 minutes of arriving. Parking right outside puts you in the residents' zone, but the signs are some distance away and I missed them. That restriction wasn't mentioned on the booking website or at the property, which was really annoying.

The location was ideal for the course I was attending, but the stay itself wasn't great. I paid extra for an ensuite after finding out most rooms don't have one, then was told on arrival that I wouldn't have one until the second night. Breakfast was left in packets in the room rather than served. While I was out, my bags were moved to the second room, which had only half as much breakfast as the first and no coffee. There was a wet patch on the floor by the bed and a lamp that didn't work, too. Also, a long-term guest seemed to wander to the shared bathroom half clothed, which wasn't ideal as a woman staying alone.

Booking and arrival both went smoothly. It would have been good value if my deposit had been returned. I've asked several times and still haven't received it. Very disappointing.

The bed was really comfortable and the facilities were good. I arrived early because I'd arranged my travel around another annoying train strike, and after I contacted the property, they sent instructions so I could get in straight away. There are Aldi, Asda and Sainsbury supermarkets nearby, along with plenty of pubs and restaurants, so I had what I needed close at hand. I'd stay again and recommend it.
