Hebden Bridge Hostel

I catered for a group who hired the whole Hostel for a party, and thought it was an amazing space, with a great vibe and facilities. Loved the artistic touches, cosy outdoor area and clean, well equipped kitchen. It’s clear IOU is trying to make both the building and the business as eco-friendly as possible, which is great. Would recommend!

I stayed with my two kids over the Easter holidays, and we had a great time. Our four bed room with ensuite was just right. The kids liked having the two mezzanine beds, which made it feel more spacious, and they appreciated the WiFi. I enjoyed a quiet coffee in the snug in the morning, and it was handy to have a kitchen where we could cook our meals. It’s a great base for exploring Hebden Bridge and the surrounding area, and the other guests were friendly. I’ve already booked to come back with friends. Highly recommend.

Really lovely rooms and shared spaces, and everything was organised and well run. I met some friendly visitors in the evening, but it still felt quiet. I’d recommend it and stay again if I’m ever back in Hebden.

I’ve stayed here several times after walking the Calderdale Way this year, and also for my annual autumn walk through the beautiful scenery of Hardcastle Crags and Nutclough woods. The hostel is clean and sits in a lovely wooded spot on a hill above the town centre. I think it’s good value, especially with what I call the 'Hebden Bridge tax' on many things in this charming little town. There isn’t really an on-site service, but everything you need is provided. The kitchen is large and well stocked, and I love the little lounge at the end of the corridor. Watch out for the cobbled snickets and ginnels if you take them as shortcuts up or down. They get very slippery after rain, especially with autumn leaves around.
