We ate here all three nights, trying a different menu choice each time, and every meal was spot on for flavour and portion size. Breakfast was superb too, with quality ingredients that set us up for the day. We stayed for three nights to explore the Yorkshire 3 peaks, and the hosts and staff did everything they could to make it relaxing. Great value and awesome service, can highly recommend it.

The food was the real treat: old-fashioned pub grub, absolutely scrumptious. The fish pie was fantastic, and the steak and ale pie with herb suet pastry was the best pie we've ever tasted. We ate in the dining room and were well looked after all evening, with our drinks brought to us. Later we relaxed in the lounge, which is also a dining area and has eclectic decor worth a look. The tap room is at the far end. This is a welcoming, family-run pub B&B tucked away from everywhere. Our twin room, no.4, was basic pub accommodation, but clean and well-equipped. They even gave us fresh milk instead of those horrid UHT cartons. The shower cubicle was a bit small for anyone above average size, though there was plenty of hot water and towels, so it was good enough for us. Breakfast had the same care in the service and quality, and the portions were huge. Unfortunately, we couldn't manage it all. If you're passing through and need somewhere to eat or stay, we can highly recommend it.

The twin room was very, very small, more like a large single, and I didn't think it was worth the £100 per night. There wasn't much space, so the kettle, cups, glasses, biscuits, tray, TV remote, menus and instructions were all piled on one tallboy, with cables trailing everywhere. It didn't feel very safe. The pub itself is welcoming and comfortable, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. The food is extremely good quality, especially the steak. It's a lovely base for a long weekend exploring the Yorkshire dales. The main route through to Skipton and the lake District runs past it, though, so it gets very busy. Take earplugs.

The food was delicious, well priced and served in very generous portions. The cooked breakfast is one of the best we've had. Everyone was friendly, polite and helpful, and the whole place was spotless. Our room was warm and had tea, coffee and biscuits, a nice touch. The shower was a welcome surprise too, with a roomy cubicle, good hot water and a powerful flow. We've found showers can be cramped, barely trickle and run lukewarm in some places. Fabulous place to stay, a little gem, and we'll most definitely go back.

The breakfast is absolutely top notch, with generous portions of quality food. The staff are lovely and friendly, and the setting has traditional country pub surroundings. I haven't stayed overnight, but I'd be more than willing to try it for £85. I imagine that would be good value. If you're driving past and looking for food, you won't regret stopping.
