We found the price very reasonable, and there’s a car park nearby, so parking wasn’t an issue. The breakfast had lots of options and we really enjoyed it. The room was small but comfortable, though we felt a bit cold at times. It worked well for our one night while travelling around Cornwall. We’ll come back on our next trip.

The Blue Anchor next door is a proper West Country pub ⚓. As for No.52 B&B, I can totally recommend it. The rooms are clean and neat, and it’s lovely and quiet. Staff were friendly and attentive, and breakfast in the charming dining room was excellent. Outstanding, really.

The morning service and breakfast were amazing. You can choose a Full English or just bits of it, and there are gluten free options. The hostess was awesome, and it was the full works. I was in twin room 2, which was clean and spacious, with lovely views over Helston. It had a TV, floor fan, kettle, supplies and biscuits. To collect the key, go to the Blue Anchor next door. Breakfast is free from 7am to 9am, and they asked what time I wanted for the following morning. There’s no evening meal served, so I went up the hill to Inn & Still for top hospitality, food and beer. My room looked out over the back of the Blue Anchor, and sea shanties from the gazebo out back serenaded me. The front door was a little challenging at first 😂. A great little find in Helston when I was looking for reasonably priced accommodation.

We didn’t sleep well at all because of the noise. The taxi rank just outside stayed noisy until the early hours, and so did the pub adjoining the B&B. The building isn’t soundproof, and at 2:30am we could hear another guest’s TV blaring. Such a pity, because the rest of the stay was great. The owners were friendly and helpful, and even stored our bikes round the back. Our room was very spacious, including the en-suite bathroom, and had lovely sunset views. The location is central and breakfast, a full English, was great.

The breakfast lady was friendly and tried to help, and the beds were comfortable. But the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned properly: there was hair all over the shower, and the towel had marks on it, so maybe it hadn’t been washed. The front door handle fell off and the entrance looked a bit tatty. Parking was an absolute nightmare, with a massive ditch beside the road and restrictions that meant you could only park after 6pm. The pub right next to or above the room was extremely loud until 3am, with singing and lots of noise. The taxi rank outside was loud too, and cab drivers shouting across the road at 3am made sure we couldn’t get a good night’s sleep.
