I’ve stayed in the rooms here a few times and it’s always been really great. I’ve also had a wedding reception here, and just had a curry. The staff are friendly and kind, and it’s great value for money. The chips, chicken burgers and nuggets are great, and I think they have veggie burgers too. I had an Indian meal here as well. If you don’t mind it being quiet, that’s great too. It’s in Henfield. Thanks, Paul.

I can’t speak to the accommodation, but the pub has so much potential: a great location, spacious rooms, and a really beautiful old interior and exterior. The barman was great, yet both hand pumps were off and there was nobody there on a Saturday afternoon. What’s going on?

A great budget hotel, with a warm, friendly welcome. The rooms were clean and tidy, and had all the essentials you’d expect for this price. Parking behind the hotel is limited.

My husband and I stayed overnight and found this place to be fantastic value. We had a delicious Indian meal in the restaurant, with good sized portions. He ordered the pathia and rice, while I had the tandoori mix and saag paneer. The atmosphere was warm and the staff friendly. We’d stay again.

The rooms were so basic that the TV, kettle, one wardrobe hanger, hairdryer and bathroom soap were about all there was. The bathroom was a bit grubby, too. We paid extra for the king suite, but it was just two beds pushed together, one with a firm, springy mattress and the other very soft and springy. Neither was comfortable. The hotel is right on the high street, and seems to be the only one in town. It looks very dated, Tudor style, and I think the rooms haven’t been updated since then. We didn’t eat here, so I can’t comment on the food, though the menu was Indian. You get what you pay for, I suppose, but there are no frills, and I feel I was generous with three stars. I wouldn’t recommend it or go back.
