Honeysuckle Terrace - From 125 Per Night

Just a minute’s walk from the town centre, this is a lovely, authentic local pub. Manager Guy was so friendly and shared some local history. The beer garden is really nice, the pint was great, and so was the pub. We’ll be back.

We were only there one night, so the shortcomings weren’t too bad, though it felt a little overpriced. The old pub is cosy and close to the market square, and our room was comfortable. It was quite cold, probably because of the building’s age and single glazing, but they provided extra heaters. The curtains weren’t great, and there was no bathroom door.

The food and service were excellent for my birthday meal, but the evening was spoiled by the lack of heating. I asked the manager, who said he knew and that nothing would change because the place needed refurbishment. Portable heaters would have made a real difference. After spending money on a meal, I don’t think asking to be comfortable is too much.

The food was delicious, and the staff were attentive. My dad has a severe brain injury and needs a lot of accessibility support, so I was concerned before booking our Father’s Day Sunday roast. The pub was honest and helpful about the steps and access, and the team were incredibly kind as we moved Dad around. My family and I look forward to coming back. Thank you.
