We had our wedding here and had an incredible experience. Lauren handled the planning ahead, setup and logistics so smoothly, and made the venue look beautiful and feel magical. On the day, a dedicated team kept serving our party regularly, and we didn't want for anything. The food was incredible and all our guests had a lovely time. We'd absolutely recommend the venue for a wedding.

The menu was well put together without being too complicated, and the food was decent, though nothing earth shattering. The staff were excellent, professional and happy in their work, and we'd go again. It feels like a restaurant in a former pub, really a gastro pub. One thing that nearly put us off: the large barn is used for wedding events, and signs may say there's an event on or the garden is closed. The pub is separate and has a dining terrace, so the garden sign doesn't mean the terrace is closed. Go in and they'll sort you out.

We tried the Thursday three course set menu for £25. The food was delicious and the service great, with very good value for money. My only small gripe was the rhubarb crumble, which came without custard or ice cream. I felt it needed one of those to balance the sour rhubarb. Loved the rest and will definitely return!

It used to be our go-to restaurant, pricey but worth it for the quality. Sadly, the last two times we've eaten here, things have really slipped. The roast potatoes were so hard we couldn't get a fork into them, and the meal was worse than Toby Carvery quality at five times the price. On our previous visit, the burgers had so much mustard they were inedible. Maybe the chef was away, but something seriously needs fixing or customers will leave. Nobody seemed to be enjoying their food today, which was a huge disappointment compared with a year ago. Please sort this out ASAP.

After a walk in the woods behind the pub, we stopped by on Monday 29th December. The car park looked like it might be busy, but the pub was shut. The barn was open, though it seemed understaffed while we waited, and it took nearly 20 mins to get our drinks. There was no real ale either. Trying to modernise seems to have cost the place its soul.
