Brandon Lodge is a good-value B&B hotel on the southern edge of Hereford. I stayed in May 2025 for a visit to Herefordshire Archives (HA). It’s not within easy walking distance of the historic town centre, which is why I gave the location four stars. For researchers, though, it’s ideal: HA is only a five-minute drive away via the southern relief road, avoiding the frequent traffic delays on the A49 at Victoria Street bridge. We’ve been before, and this visit was just as much of a pleasure. The place was spotless and kept that way by daily housekeeping, with ample parking and superb accommodation. The friendly, helpful staff made sure we wanted for nothing. Breakfast was freshly made and filling, just right to set you up for the day. We’ll definitely return and wouldn’t stay anywhere else in or near Hereford. Thank you, Monique.

The owners are so warm, friendly and accommodating, and I really love this place. My room was nice, with a comfortable bed, and there’s a lovely outdoor seating area with a fountain. If you order a takeaway, you can use the conservatory or dining room any time. It’s right at the edge of the city, about five minutes from the centre. I’d definitely recommend it and hope to stay again.

We’ve been coming here for years and love staying. The courtyard rooms make it easy to come and go as you please. They’re cleaned to a very high standard every day, and breakfast is cooked perfectly.
