A classic, warm pub and a lovely old inn, with a friendly owner who makes you feel welcome. I’ve stayed here a few times over the years and always look forward to coming back. It’s a great fit for dog owners and hikers, and the B&B is very reasonably priced. If you want to get away from the rat race, you’d be hard pressed to find a better place.

We were so glad we found this pub. The food at the nearby hotel where we were staying was a bit too posh for us, but here it was homely, delicious and served in generous portions. There are board games to play, which we enjoyed, and it’s dog friendly too. The manager greeted us on arrival and was very friendly. A pleasant, quiet atmosphere, and superb food, right in the middle of Dartmoor.

The drive out here is lovely, and the views and proper ales make it well worth the trip. A lovely pub out in the sticks. The food is cooked fresh, and the chef goes out of his way to cater for everyone.

We’ve been here on a couple of nights during a weekend away with friends, and we all thought the place was wonderfully welcoming. I ate here on Thursday too and really enjoyed the food. Great pints, warm atmosphere and excellent service. What more could you ask for?
