The food was excellent, and there was plenty for everyone. We had afternoon tea for a baby shower and all felt welcome, relaxed, and had a good time. The only awkward bit was serving our own tea and coffee from big thermos flasks instead of having it brought to the table. Maybe that was because we were a large group, or maybe that's how they usually do it. I'll try again with just 3 or 4 people and see.

The room at the back had a modern, industrial look, with scaffolding poles and planks used for the tables and comfortable chairs. It all looked recently refurbished and was spotless. The staff were really friendly and kept checking on us.

Sitting outside in summer is lovely, but bring sun tan lotion! The bar seems to open from 4pm on weekdays and around dinner time at weekends, with food available Wednesday to Sunday. There's also an attached cafe/coffee shop open from morning into the afternoon, serving full breakfast and various meals if you don't want alcohol. It's open until about 4pm Monday to Friday, and 9 till 1pm Saturday and Sunday. Friendly place, good attentive service, wheelchair accessible and child friendly.

The children had pancakes and strawberries for breakfast, then Santa and his elf came to see them and handed out selection boxes. It was lovely and really reasonably priced. We had the full English too, tasty and a generous portion. Same time next year 😄😉

Second time I've popped in for coffee and it's a lovely place. The manager has a real knack for hospitality and makes time to sit and chat with customers before they go. A spectacular display of that kind of service, something that's hard to find in 2018. I'll visit again, five stars, whether for a stay or just a bit of a relax. I'd recommend it.
