The restaurant was good both nights, with quality food at a fair price and really friendly, helpful staff. I was here for a couple of nights on a business trip. The room was spotless and spacious, with complimentary toiletries, teas, coffees and sweet treats, plus the included Wi-Fi worked well. It's a lovely country pub and hotel. I'd be happy to come back if work brings me to the area again.

We had one issue with our lunch, but the waiting staff sorted it out without fuss and made sure the supervisor knew what had happened. I'm looking forward to going back. The food was great, fairly priced and served with care. The dining room is spacious and clean, with access to a lovely, large outdoor eating area. There's a decent car park with easy access to the pub and dining area. The pub is dog friendly. We saw staff helping a wheelchair user, who seemed happy and otherwise unimpeded. In this very old building, the toilets are all on the same floor, with only one small ramp to manage, though the building almost certainly wasn't designed for wheelchair access. I gave the room rating four stars as a guess since we only had lunch. Otherwise, I'd have given five stars across the board.

The food, drinks and coffees came to a very reasonable £35 a head with a 10% tip. We spent nearly four hours catching up with friends at The Fox at Ansty and were never hurried along. The Sunday choices were fairly basic but did the job: roast pork with crackling, beef cooked two ways, and a vegetarian option. The beef was delicious, as was the perfectly cooked pork. There were generous servings of vegetables and tasty gravy. Despite the miserable weather, the pub was warm and welcoming. The service was excellent and unhurried, just what we needed. Nice range of wines and soft drinks too. I only wish I'd taken photos. Highly recommended, we'll be back.

I had a stunning pie in the bar with a lovely pint of Purbeck Gold Cider. The Fox has plenty of charm even in winter, in a great rural spot. I stayed there on a recommendation about the food. The room was very clean, with good facilities, a well-stocked tea tray, a comfy bed and a smart en-suite. I had to leave before breakfast at 8am, so the team put together a takeaway: a sausage bap, crisps, fruit and a bottle of juice. I'll look to stay again next time I'm in the area.

A fantastic find. Everyone was friendly, from the staff and owners to the locals, and they took time to chat. The accommodation was great, with a comfy bed and pretty decor. There was plenty of choice on the breakfast and dinner menus, and the food was first class. I'm gluten intolerant, but that wasn't a problem for the chef and his team. Their gluten-free fish and chips were the best I've had in 15 years. We look forward to coming back.
