Corinne and Kate were genuinely kind, generous and warm hosts. When my car had trouble, Corinne went out of her way to help, and they support red squirrels too. The location makes a great base for exploring, with shops and major routes nearby while still feeling secluded. There are lovely views, a large garden, a nice walk from outside the hotel, ample parking and an EV charger. My dog was made very welcome, and they were patient with his excitement. The room was just the right size and temperature, with a few cobwebs but no flies. Breakfast was really excellent. I'll definitely come back.

I felt lucky to have the chance to stay here and rest. It's a dream destination any time of year, in my opinion, and a lovely place where I'd bring my family for local walks. This time I was hiking Scafell Pike, so I didn't get to try those walks. It's a refuge for red squirrels, which are looked after and protected. I was glad to get advance warning about the potholes on the way in, so I knew what to watch for. In winter, I imagine you'd need winter tyres and preferably a 4x4. Such a lovely host and great hospitality. Thank you 🙏🙌

If you enjoy getting away from it all and being around nature, I'm sure you'll like staying here. The location is lovely and the breakfasts are great, and the flapjacks were memorable. I saw three different red squirrels, a tawny owl, yellowhammer, bullfinch, siskin, chaffinch, jay, robin, blue tits, coal tits, great tits and others. Highly recommended.

I went on a yoga retreat here last spring and stayed at this beautiful B&B. Kate and Corrine welcomed us as soon as we arrived. The place felt homely, clean and cosy, with lovely surroundings. Breakfasts were generous and tasty, and they considered special dietary requests. A wonderful trip, and I'd highly recommend it.

This was my second stay at Forest how guest house, and it was great again. The view is lovely, and breakfast was really tasty. Sitting there eating breakfast, we had the pleasure of seeing red squirrels up close. We'll definitely book again in the future. Thanks again for an amazing stay.
