The Old School

We had a peaceful afternoon in the beautiful summerhouse, enjoying the garden views. We ate our evening takeaway there, and it felt relaxed and romantic. Lesley catered perfectly for me as a vegan, even making sure the bathroom toiletries were suitable. There was a warm welcome from Lesley, John and Boris the dog. The place was pristine, comfortable and beautifully maintained, with every detail taken care of. Breakfast was delicious and there was plenty of choice. I can’t recommend this B&B enough.

For a quiet stay and truly beautiful views, the location is superb. I was there just one night, but it was everything I expected and more. Lesley is an excellent host, and the spacious, clean room had all I needed, with some nice touches. Breakfast had a good selection of local produce, was served with a smile, and nothing was too much trouble. Five stars in every respect.

The garden was full of visiting birds and had plenty of spots to sit and relax. The summerhouse was so comfortable, and I loved listening to Lesley’s music. There were lovely extras in the room, fresh homemade shortbread that was delicious, and fresh milk in the guest fridge each day. Breakfast had an excellent choice too. What a warm welcome from Lesley. I could go on and on about the Old School. Highly recommend a stay here.

The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had anywhere: homemade granola, excellent local bacon, sausage and eggs, homemade bread, plus Stornaway black pudding and haggis. It was divine! The Old School is picturesque, and its location is stunning. Lesley is one of the best hosts you could meet and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Our room was lovely too. Hands down the best B&B I’ve stayed in.
