We had a lovely stay at The Maltings. The restaurant was a highlight, with delicious food across the menu, from steak to more inventive dishes. Breakfast was just as good, and the service felt warm and easy throughout. Staff from reception to the bar and restaurant were exceptionally welcoming, and nothing felt like too much trouble. Our room was inviting, warm and spotless, with good tea and coffee and homemade cookies waiting when we arrived. The whole place is very dog-friendly, while still being considerate of other guests. We’d happily return.

The food was absolutely delicious, but what really made our break was how friendly the staff were. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and they came across as well trained and valued. We had a wonderful time in a lovely place with a super room. Thank you so much x

Sunday lunch at The Grain Store was full of rich flavour, and the cauliflower cheese was especially good. There’s a good menu selection, drinks included, and I’d love to return and try more. The setting around the restaurant felt like a holiday, even though we’re only a short drive away, and the beach was an easy walk. I’m looking forward to trying an overnight stay sometime. One bit of feedback: the main Maltings building was quiet and seemed to have a limited team. We felt a little lost trying to find the restaurant, since The Grain Store initially came across as a separate business. The bar team were happy to help once they appeared.

As someone with coeliac disease, I was delighted by the range of gluten-free choices, including a delicious breakfast. The food was superb. Our room was lovely, with a beautiful bathroom, and everything was absolutely spotless. The Maltings itself is gorgeous, with a cosy, comfortable feel and a nice blend of old and new. Everyone we spoke to was really friendly.

Dinner here was a real hit with our friend visiting from America. The chicken, cod, smoked salmon and salad were all excellent, and the salad greens were amazing. We enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, too. The space is spectacular, the service was great, and it’s super dog-friendly. We’ll be back!
