The Ship Inn

The Ship Inn was a lovely way to start the day. It’s a nicely presented pub, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. I nearly went for a full English, but decided to try “smokey Joe’s” instead: sauté potatoes with smoked garlic sausage, peppered bacon, eggs, chipotle, tomato, and pepper. The potatoes were lovely and the bacon was spot on. It was filling, with a little spice but nothing too intense, especially for breakfast. Glad we gave it a try.

On our way home from a Norfolk break, we stopped at the Ship Inn for breakfast. The meal was beautiful and, we thought, fairly priced. Staff were friendly, helpful, and very efficient, and the service was excellent. This was our second visit, and both times we’ve been thoroughly impressed. One of the nicest breakfasts my husband and I have had, and we’d highly recommend it.

I’m fussy, but I’d absolutely recommend The Ship Inn. The food is sensational, and there’s a fabulous selection of cocktails, wine, draught ales, beers, and lagers. We stopped in for a tasty drink a few times, though you can also stay longer and choose from the gorgeous menu. Best of all, it’s dog friendly.

We left dinner feeling full and like we’d paid a fair price, which doesn’t happen often for us at a pub. The portions were the best I’ve had from a pub dinner, and the menu is all homemade, which really comes through. They use local ingredients where they can, including the meat and fish. The staff were super friendly and helpful too. Just brilliant, and absolutely somewhere to eat if you’re staying in the area.
