Lynn made us feel welcome from the start at Tyn Y Mynydd Bach. She called before we arrived to explain how to collect the keys, then greeted us in person and showed us around. There was even a small basket of goodies waiting for us. We stayed for seven nights and loved it. The apartment sits above a garage and feels bright and airy, with lots of skylights for natural light and fresh air, plus blackout blinds when you want the room darker. It’s well equipped: full kitchen and utensils, washing machine, dryer, fridge, freezer, WiFi, a log burner with plenty of supplies, and central heating. We found it well insulated even without needing much from the heating. There’s a private driveway and a lovely garden area. It’s close enough to the A55 for easy access, but set back in a peaceful, quiet spot. It made a perfect base for our stay, and we’ll definitely come back.

Everything was spotlessly clean, and the owners were lovely. We slept so comfortably on the beds and the couch. The apartment had everything we needed, and it felt light and airy in a beautiful country setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend it.

We spent two weeks here and wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Up near the top of Halkyn mountain, it’s so quiet that we mostly heard birds, with very few cars around and sheep in view. There are lovely walks from the door, beautiful surroundings, and towns and the coast are still close enough. Exactly the peaceful getaway we wanted. The owners were friendly, welcoming and helpful, attentive without intruding. Lynn greeted us, showed us around the apartment, shared some local information and answered our questions, then left us to enjoy the complimentary bottle of wine. The place is light, clean and thoughtfully laid out, with a high standard of finish. Nothing felt skimped on, and the bed was comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep every night. We wouldn’t change a thing about the property, which is unusual for us, and the owners made the holiday a pleasure. Bring waterproofs, though, as the weather can be unpredictable. A real hidden gem in the countryside.

We’ve just enjoyed another fantastic holiday at this lovely cottage. The owners are wonderful people and perfect hosts, and it’s hard to see how anything could improve on it. It’s also a great base for exploring North Wales and Cheshire. We’ll be back very soon. John & Lin
