Everything was very good to excellent, and the place has lots of rooms. Mine was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the hot water was piping hot. The large-screen TV could have used some basic instructions for first-time users when I arrived. Otherwise, everything was fine.

The breakfast waitress was brilliant, cheerful even that early in the morning. It’s an amazing pub with good service too.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff friendly, and the showers good. Breakfast was decent, freshly cooked from a menu. It’s next to the station, with a direct train to Waterloo, and there are electric charging points in the car park. Would recommend.

We were shocked by how old and dirty reception looked when we walked in. You have to call for assistance on the reception phone, and even that was filthy. There was a grotty old sofa, and the whole place looked as though it had never been cleaned. The manager came over; I don’t want to make it personal, but he didn’t look clean either. Our room wasn’t ready, but we’d already decided we weren’t staying. If reception was that filthy, I could only imagine the rooms. We just left.

The rooms were spotless, and the staff were very attentive, especially Miranda. The train station is super close too. I had a great stay recently and would recommend it to anyone commuting to London.
