Matt, the manager, went out of his way to arrange for me to watch Aston Villa beat PSG live on the Tap Room screen, even though the bar was closed that night. The Tap Room was lively and friendly on the other nights, and we couldn't hear it from our room. The staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. Our second-floor room was clean and comfortable, with a good bed and complimentary tea, coffee, chocolate and biscuits. The bathroom was compact but spotless, with a good hot shower and great towels. Breakfast was fantastic, generous and tailored to what we each wanted. We also appreciated the on-site parking, since parking in Castleton can be challenging. The location is great, with pubs and shops close by. If you’re mobile and inclined, Mam Tor, the main caverns and Peveril Castle are all reachable on foot. A genuinely great place to stay.

We come to Castleton every year and will look to stay here again next year. Our stay was peaceful, and we had lovely views of Peveril from the room. The 10% discount in the bar was a great surprise. Thanks!

Visited in Dec 2022. We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were warm, comfortable, clean and spacious, and the staff were very friendly. Excellent breakfasts and great value for money.

The staff were friendly and shared useful local information, making it feel like home as soon as we arrived. It’s on the edge of a small town, so everywhere is walkable. Good breakfast and good value.

I was surprised by how much bigger it was inside than it looked from outside. The interior decor is really good, and there’s a great selection of craft beers from Jollyes Brewary. Best prices in Castleton. Well worth calling in.
