We loved the warm atmosphere, and the food and drinks were good and fairly priced. The place was open on most days over Christmas, so we celebrated both Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve there. The regulars were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and so were the staff.

Karen and her team looked after our group so well. We stayed Saturday night for dinner, bed and breakfast, and the hospitality was superb. The rooms were clean and well appointed, the food was excellent, and the pub had a warm, friendly feel. Thanks so much, we'll see you again soon!

Lily looked after us so politely during our anniversary dinner, and kindly took a photo of me and my wife together. We had a wonderful evening and meal. Compliments to the chef, and thank you!

We'd booked a table for 2:30pm on Sunday, but were told when we arrived that all the roasts were gone. There was no chicken, pork or potatoes left either, and what remained on the menu was pretty basic. The pate came without sourdough, and the chicken, leek and ham pie was missing two of those three ingredients. It was swamped with lots of fries, peas and fairly strong gravy. One of the worst pub meals I've had.
