The accommodation was spacious and had just the right amenities. We had a brilliant mini family break and would happily return. Our check-in was meant to be at 4pm, but the site called to say we could arrive from 12pm instead. That was a really nice gesture, and we appreciated them letting us know early.

Kingfisher lodge was huge for two people, clean and cosy. One downside was the outside lights. After 6.30pm they kept switching on and off, and it would be better if guests could control them. It’s much nicer in the hot tub without the lights, and they shine into the bedroom too. A mop and bucket in the lodge would also be useful.
We had a pleasant, relaxed long weekend, and the lodge and site were clean. We had no problems and would probably visit again if we're in the area. The four-star rating is down to a few things: some basic upkeep seemed neglected, including a missing shower head holder that meant holding the shower head while showering, and light bulbs that didn't work. We also had to pay a £200 holding deposit for any damage we might cause. I thought that was expensive, and it wasn't mentioned before booking. Thank you.
We could walk the cliffs into Hornsea, and the lodge was peaceful while still being close to the facilities, including a large Tesco. Hornsea outlet village, with discounted clothing shops and a Poundland, is less than a mile away. Our two-bedroom place was roomy, with the sea visible behind it and a lake out front. The outdoor hot tub was a lovely extra. Staff were kind, though WiFi and logs for the burner cost extra if you wanted them.
We had such a restful four days that we’ve booked to come back in March and September this year. The lodge was warm, quiet, and spacious, and we were welcomed by loads of ducks, especially once they spotted the food. We’d booked a dovetail lodge but were given a different, larger one. I’m not sure why, but I wasn’t complaining. The only niggles were missing pan lids, though plates worked as substitutes, and a walk-in shower that was brutally cold.
