We stumbled on this pub during our travels because it looked nice from outside, and it lived up to that first impression. It felt friendly and welcoming, with a lovely atmosphere. We’d only planned on a drink, but after being out all day we decided to eat too. We chose five sharing plates, and they were spot on, beautifully presented, tasty, and excellent value. It’s dog friendly too, a big plus when you’re away with your fur baby. If we’re ever back this way from sunny Wales, we’ll stop in again.

On a very wet afternoon, three of us needed a meal before the long drive home. We picked the Victoria for its convenient, ample free parking. The food was hot and clearly cooked to order, with generous portions and interesting vegetables and salad. I had the luxury fish pie with stir-fried greens, my husband chose steak pie with chips and veg, and my aunt had gammon with egg, chips, REAL pineapple, and salad. We were delighted by the delicious meals and very reasonable prices. Service was friendly and efficient, and we’d happily eat here again.

Georgia looked after us brilliantly, going above and beyond, and her enthusiasm about the menu persuaded us to order the chicken and ribs sharing platter. It was excellent, tasted great, and had a good variety of items. We started with two small plates, mussels and prawns, both delicious and a good starter portion. We’d eaten in the bar here before and liked it so much that we tried the restaurant this time. We weren’t disappointed. My wife loved the banoffee pie, but I was too full to try it.

Since discovering this family-friendly place, we’ve eaten here several times, mostly for Sunday lunch, but also in the evening. It’s very good value, and they make you feel right at home. Dogs are welcome in certain areas.

A great little find. The food was lovely, nicely presented, and portions were decent, with a good selection to choose from. The pub and restaurant were clean, with a rear car park and some on-road parking behind as well. Dogs are welcome, and there’s indoor and outdoor seating. It’s all on one level, so suitable for disabled access. Staff were polite and knew the menu well. We’d definitely go again before heading home, and recommend it to anyone visiting or passing through.
