There’s plenty to see on a walk around the village, including the old bridge, and it’s easy to reach the moor and the cycle route towards Tavistock. Back at the guest house, our room was spotless and stocked with toiletries and refreshments. The coffee maker and drinks took up most of the available space, but when we asked for more tea and plenty of decaf coffee, the hosts brought them over. Breakfast had a good choice and generous portions. One of us can’t have cows’ milk, and although we offered to bring goats’ milk, they supplied goats’ milk, butter, and yoghurt. We’ve never had service tailored so thoughtfully.

David & John made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, and their personalities were an added bonus throughout our stay. Our room was spotless, with lovely linen, a comfortable bed, and the best pillows we’ve ever had. Breakfast kept us going all day. We were staying because of a wedding nearby, and Overcombe House was conveniently located for the venue. We also appreciated the helpful website, its room photos, and how well the place seemed to meet our Covid concerns. The hosts clearly put a lot into running their B&B in a beautiful part of Devon, and nothing felt like too much trouble. We’ll keep in touch with the boys and hope to come back. Thanks, David & John, for a memorable stay.

John and David were so welcoming and happy to help, and the room was just right for the two of us. It was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and breakfast was lovely. We had a brilliant couples getaway and will definitely come back.

Freshly cooked breakfast made with locally sourced produce was a real highlight. John and David were friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and the guest house was very clean. Its Covid precautions felt sensible and reassuring. The supplies in the room were all high quality, and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. I’d highly recommend Overcombe House as a base for a holiday exploring Dartmoor and the surrounding area.

David and John did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. The room was lovely, the whole place was clean, and breakfast was first class. Great hosts, and I’d recommend staying at Overcombe House.
