What a great find. I stayed last night with a very old friend, in room 1, while Steve had room two. Sue, the landlady, was a diamond and the facilities were brilliant. The place is steeped in history too. I'd highly recommend it.

As an American, I loved the very English feel of staying above a pub. The staff were so friendly and helpful that we felt at home. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the spot is convenient for shops, restaurants and the sea. It's a quick Uber ride from the train station, or about a 30-minute walk. Guest rooms have their own entrance, so you can avoid the pub, though it's there if you want it. Great for an overnight stay or weekend break.

We only stayed one night, but the room was clean, comfortable, quiet and convenient, and the continental breakfast was very good for the price. The bar downstairs looked cosy and welcoming, though we didn't have time to get a drink. Sue, the landlady, was friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome.

The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and couldn't do enough for us. Our room was really clean and very comfortable, and breakfast was lovely too. Can't wait to stay again!

The owner gave us such a warm welcome and really went out of her way to make the stay good. There were thoughtful extras, including plenty of breakfast items and a little beauty box, and it was great to have real milk in the fridge for coffee. A lovely little gem, and I'd definitely book again. Thank you Sue x
