The staff were so dismissive, and the rooms were shabby and uncomfortable. For what they charge, this place isn't worth a penny. The lift is barely bigger than a broom cupboard. Our first room was supposedly a “very nice room,” but it seemed more like the maids' quarters in the basement, with a bay window facing a rubble-filled alley and a grimy brick wall. We had to beg to be moved. The next room was fine if it was 1972, which is probably when it was last updated. The tub was moldy, the toilet barely flushed, and the room was dim and dingy. I sleep better on my camping cot at home. Nobody seemed interested in making us comfortable, and the staff treated guests with disdain. Honestly, it was horrible. I'd avoid this place like the plague.

We had a great room, really spacious, with a king-size bed, TV, bay windows, and tea and coffee. The bathroom was huge too and had a Jacuzzi. Staff were extremely polite and helpful. Checkout is at 11, which felt later than usual and was a nice bonus. I'd definitely come back.

The hotel was in a handy spot for the seafront and buses into Brighton, and on-street parking cost £7 a day. We had a reasonably big, clean room with extra seating, plus a kettle and tea and coffee. It was comfortable, though the lighting was so poor that reading was difficult. The bathroom felt tired, the shower was hard to adjust and leaked across the floor. Breakfast was generally very good, though overcooked on Monday. The corridor floorboards squeaked badly.

I stayed five nights and had a nice time. There was enough space for my luggage, the bathrooms were clean, the bed was decent, and the TV was a cute extra. The main problem was staff slamming doors in the hallway early in the morning. I meant to bring it up at checkout, but a maid was loudly complaining to the front desk, which felt unprofessional. At that point I wasn't comfortable asking them to keep the noise down.

The beds were comfortable and the TV worked, so I don't really have any complaints. There was a small issue with the deposit when we checked in, but it was sorted out quickly. All in all, the hotel was perfectly fine.
