The restaurant was a highlight, with delicious meals, good ingredients and lovely presentation. The staff were professional but still very friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and cozy, with a welcoming feel. Our room was spacious, comfortable, tastefully designed and spotless down to the smallest detail. The authentic fireplace gives the place a special warmth and sense of comfort and luxury. An evening spent beside it is unforgettable. We’d love to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, quality and a memorable atmosphere.

The Cocktail Lounge looked gorgeous, and the sound system was brilliant. We hired it for a birthday party this weekend and had an amazing night. Rob behind the bar did a great job serving whatever people asked for, and even made me a special drink since I wasn’t drinking alcohol. Kitty took care of the cake, sauce in jugs, plates and forks as if it were no trouble at all. I’d recommend the Southern Belle as a venue to anyone.

Wendy looked after us so well at the bar. Local people gave the place a relaxed, friendly feel, and Wednesday night had an extra treat, with several musicians gathering to play lovely folk music. The Southern Belle was a great choice for my conference trip to Brighton. The rooms were lovely, and the downstairs bar and food were excellent.

I stood right at the front of the bar for over 20 minutes, but the staff kept serving other people. Others walked up and were served straight away, despite me having waited ages. I’ve worked in several bars, and that kind of service wouldn’t have been tolerated. The long-haired boy and the girl were too busy chatting and serving whoever they liked first. I’d popped in for a quick drink before a 4pm event, but this infuriating experience ruined my afternoon. I’m never coming back.

A cosy, lovely pub and restaurant that’s very welcoming to dogs. The service was friendly and quick, and the roast was excellent. Good value compared with similar places nearby.
