The room had a unique, original decor, a comfy bed and an excellent shower. It was hot outside, but the fan kept things cool. The bathroom light flickered at first, though they fixed it promptly while I was out. I’d definitely stay again.

The pub has a lovely back garden, friendly staff and a good locals’ vibe. We stayed in three of its four rooms, and they were clean, well looked after, with comfortable beds. I’d highly recommend both the rooms and the pub.

We all found something we liked on the superb menu, and the food and service were both great. We brought our family on 6/2/26 to celebrate a 70th birthday. It was a noisy Friday evening, but the atmosphere was great and we really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you.

Fresh, tasty food served with a smile, plus a great choice of ales and lagers. The Stirling has a cool music selection and a great vibe, with a small enclosed courtyard. Tucked away on quiet streets, it caters to a more discerning crowd away from the bustle.

UPDATE: After reading about our experience, the staff got in touch and invited us back at their expense. That showed they care about their customers and business. They didn’t ask us to change the review, but we enjoyed dinner on the return visit. The pork belly was solid, with very, very generous portions. The food had only been okay on Burns night. Although they advertised other Scottish delicacies, the only option was the haggis roast, and staff didn’t seem to know the special menu. The dish and sides were all covered in the same salty gravy. I’d expected more after eating at their sister pub, The Poet.
