Inkerman Tavern

A proper traditional pub on a street corner, The Inkerman Tavern has a decent choice of beers, pool and darts, and other pub games. There’s a stage for live entertainment, friendly staff, and a great community feel. There’s plenty of on street parking, and the marine paintings on the outside walls are interesting. Check the opening times.

We were really happy here and would definitely come back. The staff and management were helpful, the place was clean, and it was in a quiet area. Great value too, and I’d recommend it.

I paid for two nights, but left and booked somewhere else, so I lost the money. The beds were hard, the guests upstairs were very loud, and I could hear them walking because the floorboards creaked and seemed very thin. The area felt very dodgy, there was no parking, and the place is on an industrial estate. It felt very insecure, so park at your own risk. The room was dark, dull and depressing, with only a tiny TV, a broken remote and a broken aerial. There was no milk for coffee, and I couldn’t get any rest. It was dirty, with dirty bins outside the rooms, and nothing like the description or photos. The boat pictures are of the harbour, two miles away. Also, the other reviews are FAKE!!! Please don’t stay here, you’ll regret it. I don’t usually bother writing reviews, but this place was terrible. Stay at the Travelodge!

The cheap price tempted us, but I wouldn’t let it do that to you. We booked because the reviews seemed okay, then walked into a pub that smelled of smoke. The room felt like a hostel, and the toilet wasn’t clean. There wasn’t even a towel. The one good thing was that getting our money back was hassle-free. We couldn’t find another hotel, so unfortunately we had to go back home. I’ve stayed in a few bad hotels, but this was terrible.
