The building was confusing to get around, and not every room has level access. The third-floor rooms involve a flight of stairs, while some others require going up and down a few steps. Our room also had very low water pressure, empty soap bottles that hadn’t been refilled, and no trash can. They upgraded me to a spacious large family room. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the train station.

The staff were absolutely great, and the room was nice and clean. The hotel’s location is perfect for getting around Hull on foot. There’s just one small thing: the bathroom has no vanity light by the sink and mirror.

The staff were brilliant, especially Dean, and we wish Ashley all the best in the new job. We enjoyed our stay and would come back to Hull. The room was clean and bigger than some hotel rooms, though the furniture could be arranged better. Watching TV from bed gave me a crick in my neck, so a second chair might help. The bed was comfortable once we got used to it, but very high for me to climb into at 4' 10". I loved the bathroom, though the slippery shower didn’t feel safe. We bought a shower mat and took it home. Drinking water from the corridor tap was a good idea, and there was a jug, but I need water with my medication and had to take a glass from the dining room. I’d expect drinking glasses in the rooms. We don’t know Hull, so we mostly walked or took buses. After parking in the free car park once our stay was verified, we left the car there from Thursday to Monday. On Sunday, Lewis got us a taxi and the service was quite good. At home, drivers sometimes help me out of the car, but this driver didn’t, or even ask if I needed help. Breakfast timings on the invoice showed Tuesday to Friday and Saturday to Sunday. We only realised there was no Monday breakfast after asking what time it was served. We were the only guests, it’s true, but walking about seven minutes to Macdonalds wasn’t really what we wanted. I suppose we could have got something from Tesco. Perhaps a complimentary loaf, toaster and basket of preserves could be put out. We couldn’t get marmalade while we were there, but they did get dairy-free spread for me, thank you.

We were in town for a festival and asked by email if we could leave the car before checking in so we could make the most of our time. They replied quickly and said that was fine. When we arrived, we found the car park at the back and went to reception. It was only 11:45, well before the 3pm check-in, but the receptionist let us into our room straight away. Really good service. The room was better than we expected and the whole place is laid out nicely. Everyone was super friendly. We had a fantastic stay and will definitely be back.

I was here for work, though my co-worker booked the room. They thought breakfast was included, but there wasn’t any, apparently because the hotel is new. If breakfast matters to you, check before booking. My room was fine and I had no complaints about it. Of the five guys staying, though, three said their shower water didn’t get hot.
