The Railway Inn

The Railway Inn was clean and inviting, and every person in our party enjoyed the food, even the baby. We were 16 people with a baby, celebrating my mother-in-law’s birthday on Saturday 28th March 2026. We’d booked our meals a couple of days ahead. There were a couple of small hiccups, but the staff fixed them straight away once we mentioned them, so we had no complaints. Service was amazing. The staff were friendly, attentive and on the ball, and the food was a credit to the chef. Thanks for a lovely evening, we’d definitely recommend visiting The Railway.

While cycling the Hull to Hornsea Rail Trail, my wife and I stopped for a drink and something to eat. The staff were friendly, prices fair, and we both thought the salt and pepper chips were the best we’d had anywhere. We’d happily come back.

The meal was disappointing, especially as it was our first visit and we’d been looking forward to trying this pub. The fish and chips were soggy, and the Yorkshire puddings with one roast dinner were burnt. 01.06.2026 Thanks for responding to my review. The pub was very busy yesterday, so nobody checked how the food was. I mentioned it to the woman who gave me the receipt while I was paying. She just said sorry, and we left.

The food was excellent and good value, with smaller portions available for those of us with small appetites. Staff were welcoming and efficient. We enjoyed Sunday lunch at The Railway Inn today, after not visiting for a while, and will definitely be back before long. Thank you.
