Yoshi's Happy Holiday Stay-Cation

The kitchen had very few cooking utensils, so bring your own pans, pots and cooking trays if you plan to make meals. The onsite restaurant and snack bar were expensive, with a hot dog costing £7.50. Our caravan was clean and tidy, and we could bring our dog, though the rule against leaving him alone was frustrating since we’d planned to go to activities without him. WiFi cost £20 for 6 devices over 7 days, which felt a bit steep. O2 and EE barely had signal inside the caravan, so don’t count on mobile reception. Keep the WiFi code handy: when you leave the site and your device disconnects, you’ll need it again. I made the mistake of leaving the page before checking that the code email had arrived, but reception sorted it out quickly.

The beach was beautiful, but the food and drinks were very expensive. The pool broke while we were there :(

Our Airbnb caravan was lovely, which is why I’ve given this a 3 rather than a 2. We didn’t buy passes, so we didn’t use the pool, though it looked busy. Without a pass, you can only go to one bar; it was okay. The beach was busy too, but the walk up to it needed cleaning. The public areas needed a clean, especially the amusements, where several machines were out of order. That was disappointing with children. I did like that you need a prepaid card to use the games. I’d expected the place to have developed more since our last visit, but it didn’t seem to have changed at all.

The newish caravan was nice, and we enjoyed the entertainment. We never managed to swim, though. Entry is at set times, and you need to queue at least 45 minutes beforehand to get in. You also have to buy a card to play the arcade games.
