Golden Lion

We came back for another relaxing break at this fabulous hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was great, and the staff were amazing. Thank you for looking after us four happy friends and our two black dogs from Northampton so well, and for the wonderful hospitality.

The room was bright, spacious, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Parking in the car park behind the hotel was really convenient. Breakfast had great options and was served in a lovely room overlooking the green and the sea. We had a fantastic last-minute night away at The Golden Lion with my husband and toddler. I called on Saturday to ask which room would suit us, then booked directly with the hotel. I don’t know the name of the woman who answered, but she was helpful and gave me a few options. All the staff, from reception to breakfast and the restaurant, were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us. We felt so well looked after. Great customer service, and a wonderful stay. Thank you!

I slept very badly because the walls were so thin that I could hear the neighbours snoring. We stayed two nights in a dog-friendly room with a window. I spoke with two of the managers, and both were friendly, understanding and came up with an acceptable solution. The staff were incredibly attentive, especially Sophie, one of the sitting managers, who went above and beyond to accommodate us. I can’t praise the professional customer service enough. We’ll definitely return.

The room was large and spotless, breakfast was first class, and the welcome was lovely. All the staff were attentive and helpful. Sitting on a very comfortable sofa in the bar, we watched the tide come in and saw the setting sun, with the best views ever. It was our first stay, and we’ll definitely return. Highly recommended.
