Sally was a welcoming host and made our weekend at The Tudor Suite memorable. We had a private part of the garden to sit in, and the weather was beautiful. The breakfast basket was full of goodies, and there was a kettle in the bedroom for an early morning drink. The ensuite was clean and had everything we needed. The spacious bedroom was spotless, and I slept really well despite usually being a poor sleeper. The comfortable bed and cool room helped, as did the lack of traffic noise and street lights. I’d definitely recommend it.

Sally was really helpful and welcoming, and there are lots of interesting places close by, including Rye, Camber Sands, Sissinghurst, and the wonderful GREAT DIXTER house and gardens. On a summer evening we could sit in our own part of the garden and take in the lovely view. The historic house is set among gorgeous farmland, so it’s quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. The Tudor Suite was spacious and immaculate, with a lovely bathroom, a huge comfortable four poster bed, and an attractive living room. Everything we needed for breakfast was there too, and the stay was very comfortable. I couldn't recommend it more.

The location is picturesque and convenient for Rye, but the accommodation isn't worth the price and I can't recommend it. I stayed in the larger wing, The William Penn, and it was very dusty, with cobwebs everywhere, grubby old furniture, and hairs in the bathroom. The welcome provisions were basic: croissants, a loaf of bread, milk, and mini cereal boxes. In the living room there’s a fridge freezer, a table, cutlery, and a microwave, but no sink downstairs. You have to go up the very steep, uneven stairs whenever you need to fill the kettle or wash up, though a washing up bowl is provided. The host can light the log fire, but then comes back every half hour to stoke it and add logs, which you can’t do yourself. You get a section of garden, but it isn’t enclosed, so it’s not particularly dog friendly.

The cooked breakfast wasn't bad, though my partner and I have both had better. This is an atmospheric farmhouse with lovely views toward the sea, and the hostess was very friendly.

Sally runs a friendly, professional B & B in a magical setting. It’s well worth visiting, and after staying, you’ll definitely want to come back!
