The Duke of York still feels just as it did years ago, even with the change in ownership over the last 20 years. Such a lovely, rare Devon pub. If you want a proper traditional Sunday roast, you can get one here every Sunday of the year. The roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese were probably the best I've had in quite a while.

The lamb was spot on, and I really enjoyed the roast dinner while I was in the area. It's a lovely country pub to stop at if you're passing. There's no car park, though you can usually find somewhere nearby to leave the car.

The food was a real highlight: we had turkey and lamb Sunday roasts with all the trimmings, including proper homemade individual Yorkshire puddings, plus lamb shank. We finished with sticky toffee pudding and custard. Service was just as good, really friendly, and the pub has a good choice of beers and lagers. It's a 15th-century traditional English pub, very dog-friendly, with a lovely open fire in the inglenook. Fantastic find, we'll definitely be back! 😍

Pictures and old equipment cover the walls, and there's a gorgeous beer garden out back for a cold pint on a sunny day. Inside, it's got big timber beams, a thatched roof and an open fire, with smoke-stained walls. The most authentic old country pub or inn I've ever seen. The menu looked great too. 10/10.

They were really busy, but still managed to fit us in, and I'm so glad they did. The food was amazing, the staff were super friendly, and the village is stunning. There's a huge menu with loads of specials. I'd come back in a shot!
