The setting is lovely and quiet, and well placed for NT sites and other visitor attractions. The owners are friendly, and EHU is included. The entrance isn't obvious, so a CL sign by the road would help. On arrival, though, we found our name, phone number, and email address on a notice board for the local shop to see. That was very disappointing. We had a lovely first two weeks, but then Paul unplugged our electric cable for five hours, partly defrosting our freezer. It became clear he didn't like campers using electricity, even though the hookup is rated at 16A. He complained that his bill was £300 a month "for two people", although it covers them, the B&B, and as many as six vans, all of whom pay to stay. Our food was wasted, and he didn't offer compensation. Instead, he offered a refund and said we could leave. We later learned he wasn't happy about our three-week stay damaging the grass, despite accepting the booking and £420. We paid for our stay and effectively a month's electricity, plus £120. The two domestic wheelie bins were overflowing, with an average of three vans and sometimes six, and collection only every two weeks. He also apparently didn't like campers relaxing by their vans or holidaymakers staying in, expecting them to be out doing things all day. The lovely pitch furthest from the road is within range of evening shotgun fire in the fields. We know because we were hit. We won't return.

The couple who run the site are very welcoming. It's a peaceful paddock with level pitches, electric hookup, waste facilities, and drinking water. TV and satellite reception were excellent, and it's close to local amenities, making it a good base for nearby attractions. Highly recommended.

Breakfast only, but the host was friendly and accommodating, and catered for any request. Our room had two levels, with the bedroom upstairs and the shower and toilet downstairs. They'd supplied everything, from toothbrushes and paracetamol to all the shower products. The garden was wonderful, with a large fish pond and a miniature railway. Good for a quick break or a stopover of two days at most.

Really peaceful and clean, with friendly owners. The price includes EHU and very good Wi-Fi. Rye is a short 15-minute cycle ride along quiet B roads, though the last five minutes get busy. There's a lovely village pub just a three-minute walk away serving bar snacks and restaurant-style food. Highly recommend!

A lovely part of the world, and Brenda and Paul were excellent hosts who couldn't do enough for us. Their model train railway in the garden was fascinating too.
