Ilkley Riverside Hotel

We’ve stayed at Riverside Hotel several times while visiting family in the area. It’s a welcoming, homely place, and you feel at home as soon as you come through the door. The hotel sits right beside a lovely river, which is great for a stroll. The staff are amazing and always happy to help with all, or most, of what you need. The food is fresh, well presented and served piping hot, and mostly, if not all, grown locally. Drinks are poured to suit your request. We’d highly recommend the hotel and area to anyone looking for a friendly place to visit.

The bar welcomes dogs, and the dogs are friendly too. We only stayed one night, but were made welcome, and the food was great and nicely presented. I was surprised there weren’t more people dining, maybe the cold weather kept customers indoors. The hotel isn’t wheelchair accessible: there’s no lift, and the dining area is up a couple of steps. You could eat in the bar if needed.

Breakfast was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented. The restaurant was pleasant, and the food was good English fare, with pensioner discounts. The fish and chips are renowned, and dining outside by the river Wharfe was exceptional. This was my second stay at the Ilkley Riverside Hotel, in a different room this time. It was clean, had all the facilities and a nice outlook. The staff were helpful and friendly on both stays, offering to carry my suitcase upstairs. One even moved her car so I could park. Parking is difficult in Ilkley, so the hotel’s free parking is useful. I was on the Dales Way in five minutes and in town in ten. There’s a lovely stretch of walking to Adddingham and lots of interesting independent shops. You’re in town but away from it all. I’ll be back.

We enjoyed our stay and would return. The staff were pleasant, the hotel is well placed for Ilkley town centre, and both breakfast and dinner were good homemade food.
