There’s a little cafe about 100 yards away with good light lunches, coffee, cake and local crafts, and lovely walks start right from the doorstep. We stayed in the garden room, which felt spacious, with French doors opening onto the garden, a big comfortable bed and chairs. The house sits in a beautiful valley in a quiet hamlet, a real chance to get away from the pressures of modern life. The owners were friendly and helpful, including giving us a list of places to eat nearby. We’d love to come back sometime.

The bathroom was separate from our room, and the cleanliness wasn’t the best. The location was okay if you want somewhere really remote. I wouldn’t stay again.

We felt really special thanks to a fantastic host who was happy to do anything for us. The setting was lovely, and breakfast was served in a beautiful dining room.

Dinner and breakfast were both wonderful, and we managed a nice walk up the nearby hill after dinner. The hosts made us feel welcome, and the house is beautifully furnished throughout. I think it may have been the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. We could only stay one night this time, which was a shame, but we’ll certainly return.

We loved watching the house martins nesting just beyond the window, and there were red squirrels in the garden too. It’s a big, beautiful old house in a lovely spot. The hosts were friendly and helpful, breakfast was lovely, and the house felt warm and cozy. The one downside was hearing the clock during the night.
