The private path to the beach was lovely, and it only took a few minutes to walk down. My wife even spotted bats in the evening. We stayed in the ground-floor apartment, the Granny flat, and there was plenty of room for all four of us. Vivienne and Robbie were wonderful hosts. One night they showed us around their castle and shared some of its history. We slept really well, and the books and games kept the kids, and me, busy for hours. A perfect stay, 5 out of 5. We'd love to come back, either to stay again or see the battle reenactments.

The tour of the owners' unique home was memorable, and they kindly gave us all the information and things we needed during our stay. It's an authentic, comfortable castle by the shore, just off the coastal path and national cycle route. A special place to spend the night.

The castle tour was exclusive, with lots of interesting facts, and the location was lovely. Our first stop on our Scotland trip, and a great start. The owner was very friendly and made an excellent breakfast every day. We couldn't explore the grounds much because of the rain, but they looked gorgeous. I'd definitely recommend it to all my friends!

Robbie is such a welcoming host, and he was happy to show us around his home. We chose the extra full Scottish breakfast, and it definitely didn't disappoint. This is a wonderfully comfortable place, but don't expect a modern, updated stay. The castle wears its 600 years of history, which is exactly what we were looking for. If we're back in the area, we'll certainly stay here again.

I was up on business and spent one night at the castle. Robbie is a true gentleman and a great host, and I couldn't have been happier with the stay. My room was beautiful and lovely and warm. If you're in the area, give them a call. You'll be glad you did.
