We stayed for three nights and wished we'd booked longer. The view from the house is amazing, and it's right beside Loch Oich. The place is fully decked out, including the kitchen essentials, and there's a great jogging track along the canal to Eagle barge. With three bedrooms, a great kitchen and a living room looking over the lawns, it was a good base for exploring the surroundings for 2-3 days. There is only one toilet. Caroline and Dave, our Airbnb hosts at True North Lodge, were amazing.

Grace was amazing while we're staying at pine needle lodge. Before we arrived, she emailed clear directions and said to get in touch if we needed anything. We've had a day without power because of the weather, and she checked in by email to make sure we were comfortable until it came back. The decor is beautiful, and the place has everything we need for the week, from a washing machine and washing pods to washing-up supplies, some toiletries, towels, and a hamper full of food and drink. I've never stayed somewhere so well thought out. We're already thinking of booking again next Christmas.

A very relaxing holiday, and the reception, cleaning and maintenance staff were all friendly and helpful. The lodges are comfortable, though some could do with a bit of work. We didn't use The Lodge restaurant this time. It's run separately, and whether it's open seems pot luck: Facebook says 10, but it often opens at 11 or later.

It's a great location with lots to do nearby, but the lodges are rough around the edges. The staff work hard to clean them, though I think the new owner should put some money into them. The pillows and bedding leave a lot to be desired. I booked through AirBnb and was told electricity was included, but reception charged me £30 for electricity and a £50 damage fee. Both were eventually refunded.

I came for the sights and would return for those, but the place feels like a cash cow, as if they do just enough because visitors will keep coming for the area. The cabins are decent and sleep 6 comfortably, though there's some dry rot in the wall. On site, the games room was dim and full of broken things, the bar had no drinks, the laundry was broken, and the pool, once fixed, was small but fine. Service depended on who was at the front, though staff were generally helpful. With investment, the facilities could be much better, perhaps even a restaurant overlooking the lake.
