The stay was fine in some ways, but I wouldn't recommend it or come back. I had to phone to find out where to check in because no email had warned me reception was a block away from the property. The daily housekeeping I requested was missed on my second day, and the shower swung between scalding and freezing with no water pressure.

The room was perfectly good and the location was fine, but getting checked in was a ridiculous hassle. Reception is 175 yards from the two buildings with the rooms, and after taking a cab to the address, there was nowhere to check in or any directions unless you happened to walk round the back and spot the sign. We had to drag our luggage along city streets and hope it wouldn't rain. They don't tell you about this inconvenience, and if they did, they probably wouldn't stay in business.

The front door banging as people came and went was the one drawback for me. Otherwise, I loved my stay a few weeks ago. The room was spacious, with a sofa and lovely original details like a fireplace and ornate coving. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and extending my stay was easy. It's about a 10 minute walk to the town centre.

The room and bathroom were clean and spacious, and check-in was easy with helpful staff. I liked being out of the busy area while still only an 8-10 minute walk from the town centre. It was a hot day and the room felt warm and stuffy, so I asked for a fan and they brought us a small one. The beds were a bit too soft for me. Still, it worked well for a one night stay.
