Black Isle Bar and Rooms

We liked the wood-fired pizza and beer so much that we returned for a second meal. The kitchen also stays open later than many nearby places, and the vegetarian choices were delicious.

Our hostel room was clean, had its own bathroom and was in a handy location. It was my first time staying in a hostel. We liked it so much that we went back three times during our two weeks in Scotland. There was a big choice of organic beers, and everything we tried tasted great. The pizza options were interesting and really good too.

There was some noise from the nearby bars, but the room still felt cosy. It was small, clean and spacious, with lovely linen and a great shower. I was travelling with my dog, who enjoyed the cuddles and cheese treats from the staff as much as I did. The guys at the bar were amazing. I felt so welcome, and a lovely man carried my overpacked suitcase up to my room. Thanks so much, everyone. I’d love to come back if I’m in Inverness again.

The food was really good, especially the fresh, tasty pizza and olives. We’d normally come back for more, but the service put us off. Both the male and female staff seemed cold and unfriendly, didn’t help when we asked about lagers, and made us feel unwelcome even though it was midday and quiet. A very off-putting experience at Black Isle Bar. Great food, terrible service.
