Courtyard by Marriott Inverness Airport

The staff were incredible and made us feel so welcome. We ate dinner at the hotel a few times, and both the service and food quality were great. Even though the Courtyard is beside the airport, the train station for Inverness and Nairn is only a 10-minute walk away, making either destination quick to reach. We had an excellent stay.

The hotel looks brand new inside, with spacious rooms and free parking. The breakfast buffet is generous, though it costs extra, and the restaurant is a decent choice if you don’t want to head into town. Reception can quickly call a taxi, and there are often some waiting at the airport. There’s a train into town too, but it only runs once an hour, so plan around that.

The food was very nice once I finally got some, but I waited from 7 to 9pm for even a starter because the kitchen was overwhelmed with full rooms ordering room service. The airport bar was closed, so I ended up having chocolate from a vending machine while waiting. The restaurant didn’t look that busy, and the hotel does seem nice, with EV chargers too. I’d come to pick someone up after a very long drive.

The hotel is right across from the airport, no more than a two-minute walk from the terminal. We booked a king room for one night before flying to Shetland, and were pleasantly surprised by the quality throughout. After a long drive, our room was ready and they let us check in a little early. Check-in was quick and the service excellent. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was delicious, including the burger, venison steak and drinks. Our room was quiet and immaculate, with a comfortable bed, sofa, large-screen TV and a spotless bathroom with a large walk-in shower. A really quality stay at a very reasonable price. Five stars all the way, highly recommended!
