Before we even arrived, Ian was quick and thorough in answering my questions about parking nearby. He also made sure my father in law's dietary restrictions were taken care of during our stay. He's such a sweet, attentive person, and that comes through in every part of the hotel. The photos are accurate, but don't capture how warm and welcoming the MacDougall Clansman feels. I've stayed in fancy hotels around the world and rarely had service this personal or found things this clean. I'd give it six stars if I could.

Breakfast is my personal highlight, with a fully cooked offering in just the right size to set you up for the day. We've stayed at The Clansman a couple of times, most recently in April'26, and I can only agree with earlier reviews. We travel by train, so parking isn't an issue, and the location is perfect. We had a lovely room, number 7, on the first floor at the front of the hotel.

The included breakfast was delicious and made to order, and my room was spotless and really cosy. I spent three nights here. Iain was a kind, helpful host, and the location made it easy to walk to the main sights. A lovely alternative to the big chain hotels, highly recommend.

We only booked one night at the MacDougall Clansman Hotel and wished we'd stayed longer. It's a quaint, lovely place tucked just away from the bustle of downtown Inverness. Everyone was so sweet and friendly, and we felt safe and cosy there. I'd definitely stay again when I'm back in Inverness.

The owner, Iain, worked around our arrival times and even left an early breakfast for us to fit our tour schedule. The location is extremely convenient and easy to get around on foot. This small, family-run hotel made our Inverness trip even better, with such a warm, welcoming stay. Highly recommend.
