Strathblane House

The location was good, but that was about the only positive for me. Management seemed more focused on damage deposits than providing good service. Everything is handled online, including emailing the room access code, so without an international phone plan you can get locked out. That happened to another party while we were there. Room 6 felt like a college dorm; Room 2 was better. A B & B would give you better accommodation and price. I wouldn't stay here again.

We'd hiked from Glasgow to Inverness and booked for one night. The staff were fantastic and made sure we were settled. They lived two doors down and told us to call if we needed anything, which we did when we needed an iron. The room was very clean, the bathroom big enough, and the kitchenette suited what we needed. The beds were genuinely comfortable, though perhaps we appreciated them even more after sleeping rough for a few days. The only letdown was no shower gel, which we hadn't brought on our journey, but there's a supermarket right at the end of the street.

Got here at 23.55, and my first impression was really, really good. The single bed was very comfortable, and the little touches were first class: crisps, biscuits, brioche, plus water and juice in the fridge. Wish the larger hotel chains paid this much attention to detail. 10 out of 10 😴😴😴x

A lovely home from home, kept in great shape and very clean, with a nice smell throughout. The owner was warm, friendly, and helpful, and couldn't do enough for you. He clearly takes pride in the building. I'd recommend it and hope to come back soon.
