The owner was so kind, and those beds were among the best I’ve ever slept in. We stayed with my wife a few years ago and had a really pleasant time. Breakfast was pretty ordinary, but it was the tastiest one we had on our Scotland trip. I’d recommend this place with all my heart, a 10 out of 10 from me.

We got in late afternoon and managed to get the last room. Kirsteen was so helpful, patiently answering all the questions we had. There’s parking at the back, and it’s an easy short walk to the city centre. Our room was the Kennedy room. It was spacious and clean, with a lovely river view. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic, especially the Highlanders Feast. I liked that tables are reserved according to the room you’re staying in. Would definitely recommend.

We came back for a second stay because the first visit had been so good. Nan really does go out of her way to make you feel at home, while making sure everything is taken care of. Both times our room was cosy and clean, and the beds were great. The breakfasts were some of the best we had in Scotland, with homemade yoghurt and jam as well as a perfect full Highland breakfast. The other places we stayed that week cost more and weren’t nearly as good.

The little extras, like homemade sweets and a complimentary wee dram, made our stay feel special. George and Kirsteen are warm, approachable hosts who know a lot about local events and attractions. Westbourne Guest House sits right beside the river and it’s only a few minutes’ walk from the city centre. The private off-street parking was handy too.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful, and we got good tips for places to eat and things to do. The rooms have lots of charm and thoughtful details, with useful things for guests. We’d highly recommend this guest house and will definitely return.
