Salthouse Harbour Hotel and Spa

I stay in Ipswich most weeks with clients and would use this hotel more often if we could get a good corporate rate. It has a great feel, a handy town location and some really good staff. The quay side marina setting is lovely, especially on a sunny day when it feels like you could be anywhere in the world. The food is very nice, though a little pricey. Some rooms could do with a refresh. In mine, the carpet by the threshold was looking tired.

We spent our evenings in the bar, which really stood out for us. The cocktails were great, the service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The hotel is right on the waterfront, with easy parking next door. Our room was spacious and clean, with complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. We had a great stay and will definitely return.

I come back to Salthouse Harbour Hotel whenever I get a bit of spare time. The Marina room is stunning in the evening, and the food is beautifully presented. The people running the hotel are warm, genuine and welcoming, and they deliver a great experience every time. The rooms I’ve stayed in have each had their own personal touch.

Our room was quiet and comfortable, with tasteful decor and a lovely surprise: a side view of the marina, even though we’d booked a city view. We arrived early before the room was ready, and the woman who checked us in was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They offered us drinks while we waited. It’s a beautiful hotel in a perfect spot, and I’d happily stay again.
