There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and you can use the breakfast room if you'd rather bring in your own food. I really enjoyed my stay, and the food here was lovely and plentiful. Kelly greeted me when I arrived and was great; the clean rooms met my needs. They sometimes mention that the place featured on a TV show. Lovely stuff.

Getting to the east side of Ipswich was easy from here, and I'd happily stay again. I was here for a work course and liked the room and the public areas. The staff seemed welcoming without being in your face. There was off-street parking and outdoor space for smokers or non-smokers. If you didn't want their food, you could bring your own, as long as you didn't eat it in the bedrooms.

The Lion's Head has reopened as a pub, now called The Harp, which is great to see. My Madri was excellent, and Walkers cheese and bunion is always a winner. East Ipswich, come on in, we need more pubs! An open mic, folk club or quiz night might bring back that local pub feel. We need this pub, so support it! 😃👍🍺

They charge £75 for a bare-bones room and don't include a cooked breakfast. I was told toast and cereal were available, but the bread was in an unsealed packet on a table and 10 days out of date. There were two fridges, and neither had milk for the cereal. The sign outside says “as seen on TV”, lol.

It's a basic B&B in terms of decor, structure and fittings, yet the price is toward the higher end for Ipswich. The bar is nice, the windows are double-glazed, and the staff are kind.
