I had 4 nights on Islay and can't wait to return to this excellent guest house. Rhona was a brilliant host and knew what was happening around the island, with useful advice on places to eat. Three of us stayed in the downstairs flat, which gave us plenty of room. Breakfast had so many choices. I started with the full Scottish breakfast on the first morning and nearly couldn't finish it. The scrambled eggs and smoked salmon were especially good. Another morning I had smoked haddock, then finished with the delicious kippers. The breakfasts kept us from needing lunch!

Rhona was a fantastic host, friendly and helpful, and the place was clean, tidy, and comfortable. We stayed three nights, and Rhona cooked a fresh homemade breakfast herself each morning. It felt personal having her spend time chatting with us over breakfast. Thanks for opening your home to us. We'd definitely stay again.

We only started looking for somewhere in Port Ellen for two nights a few days before, so on arrival we simply knocked on Rhona's door. We were lucky she was there. She welcomed us so warmly and did everything she could to make our stay pleasant. The room was nice, and breakfast was VERY good. The house looks out over the sea by the harbor, with two restaurants right beside it. We really enjoyed staying with Rhona, and appreciated all the local tips and information she shared. The town is lovely, with two restaurants and two grocery shops, and the rooms here are comfortable. Rhonda was an excellent host and made us an amazing breakfast. I hope to get back to Scotland, and if I stay on Islay again, I’d choose Caladh Sona.

The garden was a great spot to sit around and relax, and the Islay Hotel with its good bar is right nearby. Everything else in Port Ellen is close too. Rhonda helped us out when we were in a tight spot. Our downstairs apartment was spacious and clean, the beds were really good, and breakfast was a fun extra.
